Program Description:
Learn how to bend wood to practically any shape with heat and moisture. Students will learn the principles of manipulating wood by bending. Students will learn various techniques of bending, so they may find a solution that works best for them. No tools or experience required. All tools and materials will be provided.
Learning Objectives:
Learn to carve the “fingers” on carefully prepared thin strips of wood
Experience how heat and moisture affects wood to allow it bend
Learn to carefully pin your box wall with tiny copper tacks
Learn how to fit the tops and bottoms and pin with small pegs
Students will make a set of 3 Shaker Oval Boxes
Attendance Requirements: Students must attend all days
