Industry driven curriculum for the careers of tomorrow!

Are you ready for a new career path? Now is your chance to receive industry recognized certification. 

Our goal is to build a credentialed and accredited work force through vocational skill based job training for the woodworking manufacturing and construction industry. Through the Woodworking Career Alliance of North America, we offer training and certification for a unified set of skill standards. These skill are recorded through the Sam Beauford Woodshop Institute WCA Passport Program.

1.      Teach participants practical and employable skills.

2.      Show a sustainable career path

3.      Document the skills of participants.

4.      Greatly increase the confidence of participants.

5.      Enhance labor value and mobility.

Milestones

       I.          Participants will receive an accredited skills passport

This passport works as a transcript that is recognized by thousands of employers all over the United States. Each new machine certification that is achieved gets recorded in a digital transcript. Students earn patches and certificates as more skills are earned.

 

     II.          Participants will design and successfully complete an ambitious project

Students will propose a project to be approved by the instructor. This project must utilize all the skills that are taught during the six-week course. Project must have a high difficulty level. Students will be allowed lab hours to be arranged with the instructor.

   III.          Participants will earn industry recognized certification

Upon receiving these credentials, participants of the program will greatly increase earning power. With new found confidence students will have credentialed and marketable skills that can be taken into the workforce. These skill are not only valuable in the construction and woodworking field, but can also transfer to many other area of industry.
