Ages 16 & Up

Mortise and tenon joints are the foundation of fine woodworking. They are used in tables, cabinets, timber frame construction, and much more. In this class we will learn how to layout, cut and join parts together with this tried and true joint. Week one will focus on cutting joints with hand tools and week 2 will focus on machinery. Week 3 will focus on advanced mortise and tenon, glue-less mortise and tenon, and combining machine tools and hand tools.

Ages 16 & Up

Dovetails are the pinnacle of fine furniture craftsmanship. In this course you will learn dovetailing techniques and the skills needed to layout, mark and cut dovetails by hand. We will also cover sliding dovetails joints. The first two sessions will focus on creating dovetails by hand. The third session will focus on machine cut dovetails. Students will learn how to layout, cut, and join dovetails.
